About the Project

Mission: AHP's mission is to advocate for equitable access to healthcare services, promote health education and awareness, and foster collaboration among stakeholders to improve the health and well-being of individuals impacted by incarceration.

 

Vision: We envision a society where every individual, regardless of their incarceration status, has access to comprehensive healthcare services, leading to improved health outcomes, reduced recidivism, and enhanced community well-being.

Focus Areas: AHP focuses on addressing key health issues prevalent in Indian prisons, including tuberculosis, malaria, hepatitis, malnutrition, anemia, WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene), HIV/AIDS, mental health, and universal health coverage.

At Advocates for Health in Prisons (AHP), we are proud to introduce our dedicated and diverse team, committed to advocating for equitable healthcare access and improved well-being within India's prison system. Our team comprises passionate individuals from various backgrounds, including public health, advocacy, human rights, and prison reform. Together, we bring a wealth of expertise, experience, and determination to address the complex health challenges faced by incarcerated individuals.

With a shared mission to promote health education, raise awareness, and foster collaboration among stakeholders, our team works to address critical issues such as tuberculosis, malaria, mental health, HIV/AIDS, and universal health coverage within prison settings.
